Born in Vancouver in 1989, Fan’s journey was never meant to follow the ordinary. While most children played with toy cars, he was already fascinated by how they worked. By the age of 19, he had built his first high-performance sports car—not just as an engineering challenge but to prove that limits only exist for those who accept them.

His career path was unconventional, moving through finance, digital marketing, and blockchain before leading him to his true passion—sustainable transportation. This diverse experience gave him an edge, allowing him to spot industry gaps others overlooked. His ventures in real estate and petroleum sharpened his business skills, but electric mobility became his true purpose.

In 2021, he founded EMOBILY, a company focused on sustainable micro-electric vehicles and advanced charging solutions. What makes EMOBILY stand out isn’t just the technology but Fan’s ability to form strategic partnerships. Working with companies like Foxconn, NXP Semiconductors, and TSMC has kept his company ahead of the curve. His role in bringing Bugatti’s electric scooter to market further showcases his ability to merge high-performance engineering with urban mobility.

Fan isn’t just building vehicles—he’s reshaping the future of EV adoption. His leadership at Solo Automotive Inc. has expanded sustainable transport solutions across North America, Europe, and Asia. Recognized for his impact, he has been a delegate at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) and received the G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance honor, establishing himself as a leading voice in the industry.

His influence extends beyond business. As a two-time TEDx speaker, he shares insights on innovation and entrepreneurship, inspiring future leaders. He has also worked with the Government of Canada on trade and international business development, furthering his role in sustainability efforts.

His journey has also intersected with Lime, the world’s largest shared micro-mobility and battery-swapping technology company. Reflecting on his time with Lime, Fan recalls discussions with CEO Wayne Ting about the future of urban transport. What started as a mission to reduce carbon emissions with e-scooters and e-bikes has grown into a solution for traffic congestion and parking issues. Years ago, Fan played a key role in city implementation and distribution, ensuring people had access to affordable transportation. The experience even led him into politics, where he helped shape policies that hadn’t existed before.

During COVID-19, Lime faced near collapse, but through perseverance, it rebounded into a global success with a massive fanbase. Today, Lime operates in over 280 major cities, logging 500 million minutes of ridership this year. With a billion-dollar market cap, it has become the first unicorn of its kind. Fan is now focused on helping Lime reach its next goal—a billion minutes of ridership.

Looking back, Fan reflects on his early days in the EV industry. In 2017, as he approached his 30s, he had already built large-scale fleets, worked with major brands, set up mass production, and established global distribution channels. His early success made him one of the youngest pioneers in the field, a milestone that changed his life forever.

Now, with Lime expanding into Canada, his hometown, Fan remains committed to his vision of providing sustainable transportation options for communities. Rain or shine, he and his team continue to show up, pushing for better urban mobility solutions. His goal is to expand Lime’s reach to over 300 cities this year, ensuring that people who don’t own vehicles can still access quick, affordable, and efficient transportation for work and daily life.
